Imploded Glass ring

admin | 18/08/2010

LOVING glass rings, I have been asked about how safe they are to wear as it seems there have been some glass rings in the market that break easily. I have found that if glass is at least 5mm thick it has remarkable strength. I would suggest you cannot go rock climbing and typically you cannot drop them on the concrete floor, you probably also cannot use them to break your fall on a late night out in the Viaduct but you can wear them as a cocktail ring without too much concern for strength.

Glass rings

admin | 18/08/2010

I bought a blow pipe off Anne Londez and have only just started to use it, I am having great fun with it! I have been blowing hollow forms in my preparation for lucent exhibition which will take place in October 2010.  I have attached blown glass forms to glass ring bands using my large hole mandrel and man oh man it has been wicked fun. This was such an awesome exhibition and a big thank you to Tanya Dann who arranged it all throuh NZ Art Guild. I flew down to Dundein for the opening and was very pleased to recognise Isla Osborne, Holly Budge and Barb from NZGBA participating. The works submitted were varied and interesting

Portal necklaces

admin | 18/08/2010

This is such a fun design and I am loving them. I have created various coloured glass links that are joined with sterling silver jump rings. Each chain has 15 glass links in it and can fit over the head. They come in various colours and can be bold, bright, subtle depends on the mood.
